Dear James, Daniel and Emily,
I woke up this morning feeling good, rested. Got up, showered, shaved etc. The boys had already eaten so I had time to relax, fix and eat breakfast. As I sat there reading the paper I came across this article. And as I realized the implications my mood pretty much went to hell. Soldiering on with everything. But circumstances are conspiring against me.
I still plan to spend Saturday downtown, we just might have to do a little slogging through the rain instead of enjoying a nice sunny walk. But I still plan to go to the comic book store. And I still plan on going to the library.
Sunday plans might be a little different. Instead of doing some yard work we will probably focus on the house, maybe get the basement and pantry cleaned out. We do have a plan to make a big grocery trip. And we might buy a few more groceries than normal with the future a little uncertain.
Which brings me back to my rant. The fact that any corporation is choosing to play hardball with their employees in today's economy just pisses me off. Of course I am just as irate about the fact that the Union apparently isn't budging either. So we are faced with the very real possibility of a strike happening. And I'll be honest, we can't really afford a strike right now. And I imagine we are not the only ones in that position. I guess we might save on child care costs, but that doesn't pay the mortgage. I guess we'll get a better idea of where things stand this time next week. Until then we just have to trudge on and hope it all works out.
Oh, man, I'm sorry for how this affects your family.
