Dear James, Daniel and Emily
1. This economy is like the death of a thousand cuts. First I had the furloughs: 3 weeks off over 3 months, using my vacation pay. Second, we have the threat of a strike/work stoppage for Kim (thanks for sticking up for the worker, oops, I meant corporations, Governor Ritter, jerk). And now this week I got the announcement at work that all employees are getting a pay reduction. We are still okay for now, but if there is a strike/work stoppage and it lasts much more than a month there could be a problem.
2. I sent out invites for the barbecue this coming weekend and not getting a lot of responses other than people declining the invitation. For those who have responded thank you for doing so. If you have not responded please do so so I can get an idea how many people to expect.
3. NBA: well I watched the end of the third and all of the fourth quarter last night and I was pleased to see a good competitive game. Not a blow out for either team, and the refs didn't control the game too much. It's always a good thing to see a game turn at the end because some team makes some good defensive plays, not just because one star starts getting all the calls. I think this could turn out to be a very good series, the Nuggets were definitely ready for the Lakers.
4. School is almost over for the boys, which means life will change up a little next week, due to monetary concerns James may not get to spend as much time at the Boy & Girls Club. But other than that the summer plans for the kids still stays. James is very ready for the break, and so is Daniel.
