Weekend Recap

Dear James, Daniel and Emily

We had a good weekend, although it was pretty long for me. Highlighted by going to Star Trek and the amazing Nuggets win for me. Mothers Day brunch went well, I was pleased with the meal, and everything got eaten (always a good sign). We gt the new dog pen built for Connie. And Kim is having fun visiting with her Dad.

Star Trek was awesome! I really enjoyed it. I highly recommend it for any fan of the series, especially the original series and cast. I wrote a more detailed review on FreeRangeGeek.

I ended up watching pretty much the entire Nuggets game while Kim was off with her Dad. It was not what you would call a super game from a purist perspective. But it was hard fought, NBA playoff basketball the way it should be played. And the end was just odd enough that it was remarkably fun. I didn't watch either Laker game, and I don't feel like I missed that much. At this point I almost think a Nuggets-Cav's series would be more fun to watch and better for the NBA. It's always fun to have that guarantee of a new champion.

I got up early on Sunday and ended up coking for almost 3 hours straight, but it was well worth it. Everything got eaten, there were not left overs. And everyone enjoyed their meals. And all the Mom's seemed pleased with their cards and the occasion. Thanks to Dave & Tia for bringing the fruit salad and the muffins and to Mom for her Apple crunch.

After we waited out the rain and played a few games at our house it was over to Connie's to get some work in. We managed to put together a good solid fence for her and moved the dogs. It was a good time for the kids. I think everyone was pleased with the effort and accomplishment. Now Connie can put the dogs in and out without having to pass by that spot every night. We are making progress bit by bit in her house. Next will be the back porch.

Overall though a good weekend, although the weather gods were not entirely with us. But we persevered, got done what we wanted to get done. And had a lot of fun in the mean time.
