Dear James, Daniel and Emily,
Weekend Thoughts
Memorial Day ended up alright, we went over to my niece's house for another family barbecue, which was nice. The kids had a great time. One of the things about being the youngest child in a large family is that when your older siblings have kids at an early age those kids end up being closer in age to you. So my nieces have kids that are roughly the same age as mine. Which throws off James sometimes when I talk about visiting his cousin Liz, because she is just another adult to him, not so much a cousin. So the weekend ended up not being a complete wash (pun intended). We had some fun, even though it wasn't exactly what I planned.
NBA thoughts
I am making tremendous progress in my new approach to the NBA. I think I have watched 1 complete game through the entire playoffs. And I am slowly learning to watch without letting the game get to me. And I am learning when to say stop, and turn the channel. I'm not at the same level as football where I can watch a game and enjoy it, regardless of the outcome. But it is getting there. I have to say I am surprised by the Magic, I did not expect this at all. But it just goes to show how important balance is. Lebron is great, but the rest of his team just isn't up to snuff.
CSS Alumni weekend thoughts
This weekend is the annual Alumni weekend. And I will be attending as usual. Last fall, as more an more people joined Facebook and the connections spread the thinking was that this could only lead to a much bigger turnout. Recently however I am not sure. One of my friends commented that since people have been using Facebook to reconnect that they would be less inclined to show up. I am not sure. I think that people who have connected via Facebook will still want to come to Alumni gatherings as a chance to visit in person. But I could be wrong. We will see soon enough.
