The Case for Open Immigration

This guy says it better than I ever could.

I have felt this way for a long time, but could not put my argument in the right words or find the proper justification. I know that it's hard to counter deep set fear and xenophobia with emprical fact. But I think that the smarter people who oppose immigration could learn from reading this article and the book by this writer.

And one point he doesn't address in the article and may not be in the book is the economic gains that could be realized by changing the focus of the Border patrol away from stopping illegal immigrants to just stopping contraband. The efficiency of the border patrol in stopping things such as illegal drugs would be that much more greater because that is where their focus could be instead of scattered all over.
