Fighting children's illness

Dear James, Daniel and Emily,

Monday James came home early with a fever, then yesterday he woke up with a 101 fever, and stuck with that most of the day. So I stayed home yesterday, other than taking him to the Dr. and then a couple quick errors for me. Which was pretty unproductive, I spent most of the time reading and trying to keep from nibbling too much.

So far so good on my outside running, got up yesterday and handled the 30 minute run pretty well. Although I can tell that while I am doing a better job of handling my pacing that is resulting in my wearing out a little earlier, having lost some of my edge that I had before the holidays and cold snaps. But I am comfortably averaging 30 minute 5K's right now, which means I am at least ready for the first race in March.

Now in the waiting period on the basement restoration as the contractor submits their estimate to insurance and the insurance company gives it an Okay. But in looking at it last night I am really looking forward to making some changes down there. I really want to make that transition to having the basement become the 'family room' again as opposed to the kid's play area.
