But all is certainly well with me.  We were woken by the rain storm aroun 3-3:30.  The rain did not let up until nearly 7.  And yet the basement remains dry despite 2 nights of heavy rain.  It appears that the work we put in replacing the gutters has done exactly what it was supposed to, the water is no longer just pouring off the roof into the dirt by the house.  Assuming this holds up we might finally (after 11 years) be free from flooding every spring.

Then I did my Friday morning weigh in.  Which was also the first test of my changed focus on increasing my exercise intensity and lessening my emphasis on eating the bare minimum.  And that change worked!  Saw a drop below what had been a small plateau.  So that means I just need to keep this up (might be a little hard to get that lunch time run in today in the snow and freezing rain).  But I am unthused for this next step in the process.

Football

Well the Rams as expected got their Franchise QB.  Which is just a part of their rebuilding effort, the rest of their draft is crucial as well, there are a lot of holes to fill.  But I think they are on the right track, and as anyone who follows the NFL can tell you, while a good Defense and running game will get you in the race to win games and maybe make the playoffs, you Have to have a top QB to have a shot at winning it all.

I for one was pleased with all of the wheeling and dealing by the Broncos, and the eventual results.  I think the Receiver will go a long way to filling the hole in the passing game that was left by trading Marshall, without nearly the level of hurrah and off field distractions.  And since he is coming from a running team there is little doubt that he is also a willing and able downfield blocker.  And of course they drafted Superman.  I know there are scouts and reports out there who disagree but I have no doubt that Tebow will become a good NFL quarterback, especially if he is given a year or 2 to learn and develop on the bench.  Which is a luxury he will have with the Broncos, a team with an established starter and veteran backup.  Tebow will not be expected to play, much less start, this year.  And there is the possibility that he could be used as a Wildcat QB in short yardage and goal line situations, where he will give defenses lots to worry about.
