Racing Friday + It's finally here!

Dear James, Daniel and Emily,

Ready for my 5K race tomorrow, really pretty excited about it.  Family health is rebounding after a tough Wednesday night.  NFL preseason football really arrives this weekend, so I've got that going for me, which is nice.

Running

Running in the Sue DiNapoli 5K run tomorrow.  Pretty excited to run in another race, hope to better my time and place in my age group.  But have to watch my pacing to make sure the adrenalin doesn't do me in as it did when I was trying to train for better speeds.

Health

Had my annual physical yesterday, and the Doctor was very pleased with me.  His main comment was how did I manage to maintain my discipline.  I shrugged, just said it was a life style change, getting away from the bad habits that did me in, to the point that the good habits are really the only ones I have left.  He said he wished he could find a way to get that habit to his other patients.

Family

So poor Emily wasn't feeling well Wednesday, ended up in bad with us, and then started throwing up around 1 AM.  And was up every 30 minutes until around 3:30.  She got a little rest, and then I kept her home with me & Daniel for a day of rest and kept her on mostly fluids.  And that appeared to do the trick, no exorcist repeats last night.

The boys are definitely ready for school to start, for the chance to see their buddies and return to that schedule.  Even Daniel is ready for it (sort of).  When I was home yesterday we cleared out the closets of all the clothes that didn't fit, to get things ready for school.  And then Saturday afternoon will be shoe and supply shopping.

Football

Sunday we finally get to watch some live football played in anger.  And I am pretty excited for it.  Very ready to watch, although as usual, like the running, I have to pace myself, not overdo it early in the season.  Which shouldn't be too hard so long as Kim keeps a schedule where she isn't working on Sundays.

So there you have it, Life is good, ready for the Fall schedule to arrive and really kick in.
